To say the last few weeks has been a whirlwind would be a total understatement! 2016 has proven in the first two and a half weeks that it is going to be a beast of a year, and in a totally amazing way.
The first real milestone of the year was participating in the amazing 2016 WedLuxe Wedding Show on January 9th and 10th at the Carlu. The team at WedLuxe blew it out of the water and created a totally incredible experience for over 2,000 visitors. "La Dolce Vita" was the theme this year and guest were treated to show stopping installations by some of Toronto's best in the wedding industry. Not to mention, a fabulous beauty bar sponsored by my friends at RADFORD , a delectable cafe sponsored by Oliver & Bonacini and so much more.
This was the first year for Shealyn Angus Weddings & Events in the WedLuxe show, and what an incredible experience! Not only was it a chance to reconnect with friends in the industry, but a really awesome opportunity to meet with new brides and talk about all the amazing trends in the wedding industry right now. We invited tons of brides-to-be into our little Tuscan-inspired booth to chat about their wedding aspirations and heard first hand out exciting it is to be a 2016/2017 bride! We cannot wait to hear from our new bride-friends and get planning their amazing nuptiuals.
But to me, the most awe-inspiring part of the WedLuxe show was feeling so much love and support. I cannot stress how incredibly grateful I am for every single person that came up and gave me a hug, a huge smile, and congratulations. It was completely and utterly humbling. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! It is so encouraging to work in an industry that can be incredibly competative, but still full of so much love and support. I truly believe that encouraging one another to be great is the only way to go, and I totally felt that.
Special thanks need to go out to my incredible friends David and Cynthia who stood the long hours with me in my booth and helped me promote SHEA. Your selflessness and dedicate to our friendship is incredibly humbling. Thank you to my friends at Contemporary Furniture Rentals, Jackie O , Sweet Woodruff, Dance Floor Decor, and many others who lent me products, inspired me, dealt with my million emails, and helped create my booth. I cannot thank you enough! Another special thank you to my incredible partner-in-crime, Michael, who not only designed all of my branding and marketing, but helped build my booth (and became a topiary-creating extrodinare along the way), stood by my side and encouraged me the entire weekend, and kept smiling the entire way through. THANK YOU!
So here's to kicking off an incredible year filled with tons of love and weddings! It's going to be incredible, and I cannot wait to take you all along for the ride.
